Resin bound vs resin bonded
Resin bound means the stones are mixed with resin and trowelled smooth. It's porous and comfortable underfoot, and it's what most homeowners mean when they ask for resin. Resin bonded means stones are scattered onto a resin coat, giving a rougher, gravel-like surface that isn't permeable. We'll explain which suits your drive.
The base makes or breaks it
Resin is a surface layer, not a structure. It needs a sound base underneath, such as open-grade tarmac or concrete in good condition. Laying resin over a cracked or moving base just copies the cracks into the new surface.
Colours and borders
Blends range from golden quartz and barley to silver and charcoal. A block paved border (pictured) gives a clean edge and works well with brick houses.

Weeds don't grow up through a well-laid resin bound surface, but seeds can land on top. A regular sweep keeps it clear.
Can resin go over my old drive?
Sometimes. It depends on the condition of the existing surface, and we'll check it at the survey.
